Mothernature Disaster Preparedness
Mother Nature Disaster PreparednessMisty Gates is a beautiful attractive island with plenty to do. However, this world is not a perfect place. All of us will always do everything to protect our island but there are things/threats we can’t control. One of those threats is Mother Nature. Our island is a piece of paradise on earth but because it’s an island and it’s surrounded by water, we are threaten by bad weather. Hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, are just some of the things that threaten Misty Gates. So what do we do when we face such challenges to protect our citizens? Our citizens our extremely important because they make up our wonderful island so in order to be prepare for any disaster, I have outline below a few of the things to do.
Hurricane preparedness: I introduced very strict building codes regulations. Every home in Misty Gates is built to withstand up to 140 mile per hour winds in order to protect our citizens. Furthermore, I built a dome that can withstand up to 200 mile per hour winds in the event a major hurricane comes our way and it can hold up to 2 million people. Also, at the beginning of hurricane season, the dome gets prepared with all the hurricane supplies such as water, non-perishable food, medicine, etc. to support up to the 2 million people. We have very sophisticated meteorologists that will alert us of hurricanes treats. Once a hurricane of high intensity is detected such as a category 5 or higher, our citizens immediately get transfer to the dome. Our citizens are very law abiding citizens and don’t stay behind to endanger themselves or our rescue teams. Our citizens are extremely responsible people otherwise they are not welcome in our wonderful island. In the event, that a hurricane category 5 or higher hits our island and destroys our homes, my government will step in and assist everyone in rebuilding their homes. Also, everyone pays homeowners insurance premiums but I make sure they are not extremely pricey like in other countries. (Hence Florida).
Many of our citizens are extremely wealthy that have evacuation plans to leave the island by plane immediately in the event of a major hurricane. Once the hurricane goes through, all of our citizens will come together to help each other. Our citizens are not selfish people, we believe in helping each other that’s why we are a very prosperous nation.
Earthquakes/Tsunami preparedness: Our Island is not prone to get earthquakes. But because is an island, the ocean is prone to earthquakes and that has potential to cause tsunamis. Example: Florida is not prone to get earthquakes, however, an earthquake occurred in the gulf back on September 10, 2006 and could have caused a tsunami had it been stronger. We have an extremely sophisticated center for Earthquakes/Tsunami research that is very active in detecting the possibility of this happening. Again, our citizens are instructed to heed official warnings to survive. The majority of our homes have 4 to 5 stories so our citizens can take higher ground. Furthermore, our dome is not only built for hurricane evacuations but also for tsunami evacuations. Our dome is built Waterproof.
This is just a brief description of our disaster preparedness. However, we have very detail plans in place for any possible treat that our island faces.
